Financing Options Not Available

Upright Education partners with accredited colleges, but the bootcamps and certificate programs are offered as non credit continuing education. Since they are not credit bearing, several funding sources do not apply.

The following options cannot be used to fund your enrollment:

FAFSA & Title IV Funding

Title IV refers to the section of the Higher Education Act that governs federal financial aid. Only Title IV eligible, credit bearing programs that participate in federal aid systems can receive this funding. Since Upright programs are non credit, they do not qualify for any Title IV funds.

The following Title IV programs cannot be used:

  • Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Federal Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans
  • Federal Direct PLUS Loans
  • Federal Pell Grants
  • Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants
  • Federal Work Study

Veterans Affairs Education Benefits

Veterans Affairs education benefits, including the GI Bill, can only be used for programs that receive formal VA approval and meet federal oversight requirements. Since Upright bootcamps and certificate programs are non credit continuing education, they are not eligible for VA approval and cannot accept any VA administered funding.

The following benefits cannot be used for these programs:

  • Post 9 11 GI Bill
  • Montgomery GI Bill
  • Veteran Readiness and Employment (VR and E)
  • Survivors and Dependents Educational Assistance (DEA)
  • Tuition Assistance Top Up
  • Any other VA administered education benefit requiring program approval

Private Bank Loans that Require Institutional Participation

Some private lenders require the school to participate in specific financial aid systems or federal frameworks. Non credit programs are not eligible to participate, so private bank loans tied to those requirements cannot be used.

International Loans without a US Citizen Cosigner

Most lenders require a US credit history or a US citizen cosigner for international students. Without a cosigner who meets credit requirements, these loan products cannot be issued.
