We hope you had a great weekend! Starting this week, we are introducing a new communication format to share reminders, points of information, event updates, and more. This email will go out to all active alumni who have indicated that they are still interested in receiving career services.

Here are a few helpful reminders and announcements to kick off your week: 

Sending Support to Those Impacted by Hurricane Helene

We want to extend our heartfelt support to those impacted by Hurricane Helene. We understand that this may be a difficult time for some of you and we want you to know that we are here to help. If you need flexibility with deadlines, help accessing career resources, or just someone to connect with, please don't hesitate to reach out to me (apaschall@uprighted.com) or Hollie (hthomas@uprighted.com). 

Alumni Survey Reminder 

If you haven't already, please complete our quarterly alumni check-in survey today! We are getting very interesting, actionable data and I am planning on sharing some insights and recommendations with all of you in next Monday's weekly digest email. The more data we have, the better our understanding!

Weekly Events 

Our Career Services team is here to help you stay focused and organized in life post-program. This week, Hollie will be hosting several events that are geared toward helping you achieve your individual goals. Check out any or all of these events and access the Zoom information on the Career Services Calendar: 

• Tuesday 4:30-5:00 ET: Professional Polish
  • Polish your professional image with the help of Upright's Career Services team! At our Professional Polish event, you'll learn how to enhance your personal brand, refine your online profiles, and improve your communication skills. This session is designed to help you make a lasting and positive impression in your job search and professional interactions.
• Wednesday 12:00 - 1:00 ET: Career Services Drop-In Clinic 
  • Open forum to address any career-related questions. 
• Wednesday 5:00 - 6:00 ET: Resume Roast 
  • Get ready to fine-tune your resume with Upright's Career Services team at our Resume Roast! Bring your current resume and receive honest, constructive feedback from our industry professionals. You'll walk away with actionable tips and strategies to make your resume stand out and catch the eye of hiring managers.
• Thursday 4:30 - 5:00 ET: Application Accelerator 
  • Supercharge your job search with Upright's Career Services team at our Application Accelerator event! Learn how to streamline your application process, tailor your resume and cover letter for each job, and apply strategies that will increase your chances of landing interviews. This session is designed to boost your efficiency and effectiveness in applying for jobs.

Resume Reminders 

The key to a long and successful career is a great resume! Here are a few best practice reminders and the links to our recommended templates: 

• Keep it concise: Aim for one page, unless your experience truly justifies more.
• Tailor your resume: Customize each resume for the specific job you're applying to, focusing on relevant skills and achievements.
• Use action verbs: Highlight your accomplishments with strong verbs and quantify your impact wherever possible.
• Proofread carefully: Avoid typos or formatting inconsistencies that could take away from your qualifications.
