Happy Monday and Happy (early) Thanksgiving!
As a reminder, Upright Education will be closed on Thursday and Friday in honor of the Thanksgiving holiday! That said, we're in business until EOD Wednesday so don't hesitate to reach out if you need anything!
If you are in an active cohort, there are no sessions this week! While there won't be any new content, this is a great opportunity to review topics, tools, or technologies that you'd like to reinforce.
Holiday Food for Thought
The holiday season is officially here! It's a busy time of year, we feel it too, but be sure you are taking the time and space you need for yourself. As life ramps up, here are a few things to consider:
- Get Inspired. Seek out people who inspire you! Connect or follow them on LinkedIn, seek out articles they've written or podcasts they've been on, and look into technologies/tools/companies they're talking about online. Advancing in your career isn't just applications and interviewing. Finding folks who inspire you can provide the spark of motivation you need!
- Ask. Whether you have a big Thanksgiving gathering planned or are simply getting your favorite takeout, ask people around you if they know anyone who is hiring. You never know who might know someone - even a volunteer gig for a friend-of-a-friend is a great way to get the "real-world experience" we want for your resume.
- Keep going. None of us are where we're destined to end up. Keep putting one foot in front of the other. Growth is scary. Growth is uncomfortable. But growth is necessary to become the next version of you. No matter where you are in this journey, keep going (and reach out to us for support if you need it)!
