Why Is It Important to Show Up To Your Live Sessions On Time?

Being punctual helps you fully engage with the material and keeps you on track for success in your bootcamp..

The Impact of Tardiness:

  • Fast-Paced Learning: Bootcamp sessions move quickly, with new material introduced in each class. Missing even the first few minutes of a session can put you behind, making it harder to grasp key concepts and keep up with the rest of the cohort.

  • Participation Matters: Being late not only impacts your ability to follow along but also disrupts the flow of the session for your fellow learners. Your active participation from the beginning of each class is important for both your success and the group’s collaborative learning experience.

  • Tardiness and Attendance Policy:

    • Tardiness of up to 5 minutes is considered reasonable, but arriving 10 minutes or more late will be recorded as a tardy. Accumulating three instances of tardiness is equivalent to one unexcused absence.
    • If you join a session more than an hour late, it will be marked as an absence. Habitual tardiness could ultimately impact your standing in the program .

How to Stay On Time:

  • Set Reminders: Use calendar alerts to remind yourself of upcoming sessions and give yourself enough time to log in and get settled.

  • Prepare in Advance: Make sure your workspace and equipment are ready before the session starts. This will help avoid delays in getting online.

  • Communicate: If you know you’ll be late due to exceptional circumstances, communicate with your instructor or teaching assistant ahead of time via Discord. They may be able to help you catch up on missed content.

By showing up on time, you’ll be able to engage fully with the material and set yourself up for success throughout your bootcamp journey.
