How Do I Use Discord?

Discord is the primary communication platform for your bootcamp program. It’s where you’ll stay connected with your instructional team, access essential resources, and interact with your fellow learners. Here’s what you need to know:

Main Features of Discord for Your Bootcamp:

  1. Cohort Channel:

    • You’ll have a dedicated cohort channel where all updates specific to your group will be posted. This is where you’ll receive important announcements, live session resources, and any materials related to your course.
    • It’s also the place to ask questions, communicate with your instructors and TAs, and stay on top of key deadlines.
  2. Live Session Links, Office Hours, and Resources:

    • Zoom links for office hours and live sessions will be shared in your cohort channel. Your Teaching Assistants (TAs) will also post the weekly dates and times for office hours, so you’ll always have quick access to join and get help when needed.
    • You’ll also find any materials or documents relevant to your live sessions directly in the channel.
  3. Ask Questions and Stay Engaged:

    • Discord allows you to interact easily with your instructional staff and fellow learners. If you have any questions about the course material, need clarification on assignments, or just want to connect with others, Discord is the best place to do it.
  4. Career Services Channels:

    • In addition to your cohort channel, there are also Career Services channels. These channels are where you’ll find updates on upcoming events, job opportunities, and resources to help you prepare for your career after the program.

Stay Engaged on Discord

Using Discord will help you stay informed, connected, and engaged throughout your bootcamp. Make sure to check your cohort and career services channels regularly for updates, resources, and opportunities to ask questions or seek help.
