How to Use Discord for Your AI Programs

We use Discord as our main communication tool for the AI Certificate programs. It's where you'll connect with your instructor, interact with your peers, and receive important updates throughout your course.

🎓 Why We Use Discord

Discord allows for fast, easy communication and creates a collaborative space for learning. Each cohort has its own private channel, so you’ll always know where to go to ask questions, get support, or join the conversation.

🔑 Setting Up Your Discord Account

To help us easily recognize and support you:

  1. Create your Discord account (or log in if you already have one).

  2. When choosing your handle (username), please use a format we can identify—ideally something close to your first and last name or the name you used to register for the program.
    Example: JaneDoe, jane_d_ai, or J.Doe123

Once you’ve set up your account, click the invite link we sent you to join our Discord server.

📢 After You Join

When you’ve joined the server:

  1. Locate your cohort channel in the left-hand sidebar. It will be labeled with your cohort name (e.g., #ai-aug-2025).

  2. Send a quick message in your channel to say hello and let us know you’ve accepted the invite!
Example: “Hi everyone! Just joined—excited to get started!”

This helps our team confirm you’ve successfully joined and gets the conversation started in your group.
